Ten on Tuesday (vol. 15)

1. What was your high school superlative (if you didn’t have one- what would it have been)?
I’m still a little bitter about that, so let’s not go there.

2. What sports did you play in high school?
I was on the dance team, and for a short time, I ran track (hurdles).

3.  What was the best part about your wedding (if you’re not married yet, what are you looking forward to)?
The best part? I don’t know if I can pick just one, but I know that John and I will never forget that the priest who gave the final blessing had horrible coffee breath!

Honestly, though, the best part was actually getting married and being able to share our celebration with our family and friends.

4. It’s your last meal– what Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree and Dessert would you choose?
Appetizer: chips and queso
Soup: chicken tortilla
Salad: Alex’s Salad at J. Alexander’s
Entree: either my mom’s chicken enchilada recipe or her chicken to go biscuits
Dessert: the crème brûlée at the casino in Baden Baden

5.  What song is your guilty pleasure?
I’m truly embarrassed to admit that it’s Miley Cyrus’ “Hoedown Throwdown.”

6.  What is your favorite professional sports team, and why do you like them?
The Spurs – they’re a class act and I’ve followed them for as long as I can remember.

7.  What is your favorite reality show and why do you like it?
The Biggest Loser – It’s dramatic without being scandalous, which is a win in my book. Also, I just love watching the contestants transform and grow emotionally (and shrink physically).

8. How would you classify your home decorating style (modern, classic, french country)?
I’m honestly not sure…perhaps that’s why we don’t have a cohe.sive look to our place. Living in such temporary conditions doesn’t help either. I think I’m a mishmash of a lot of different styles, though.

9. Pizza- deep dish or thin crust? White sauce or red sauce? What toppings?
I don’t like deep dish, so I’m a thin crust kind of gal. My favorite pizza is Hawaiian — pineapple, ham and hardboiled eggs. Yum!

10.  Favorite weekend getaway within a two hour driving radius?
Baden Baden, which I wrote about here and here

  1. “I’m a little bitter about that so lets not go there.”

What?!? Now I want to know what happened! 😉

My guilty pleasure song is Miley too, so there’s more of us.

  2. hahaha on the senior superlative!
miley cyrus?? that would be a guilty pleasure that would go to the grave with me!! you’re brave for coming out!

  3. I’ve never had hard boiled eggs on my pizza before, that’s definitely a new concept to me.

    • I thought it was weird at first, but now I love it. Granted, I eat them all off before starting my pizza, but having the pizza goo on them makes them extra tasty!

  4. What is chicken to go biscuits and can I have the recipe?

    • Yes ma’am. Let me copy the recipe and I’ll email it to you tomorrow.

    • Oh, and you asked what they are —

They’re a mixture of shredded chicken, milk, cheese and seasonings wrapped in a buttermilk biscuit. The biscuit is coated in egg and cornflakes and then baked. John and I love them. It’s my mom’s recipe, and I have no idea where she got it, but I have always thought they were yummy. They can be a pain to make, especially your first time around, but John and I have a system now. I don’t do the egg/cornflakes step until I’ve filled all the biscuits so that I don’t have to continually rinse the egg/cornflake goo off my hands.

  5. ditto what Chelsea said.

I LOVE hoedown throwdown! haha. Actually I like a lot of her songs, pandora kept giving me songs from a Hannah Montana soundtrack for a while and I was so embarrassed when I realized what it was that I had been loving so much! Annnnd then I went home and bought the songs on i-tunes. Ahem.

    • Sure! I’ll scan and email it to you tomorrow. See my response to her about making them.

As for Hoedown Throwdown, thanks for being brave and letting me know I’m not the only one!
