Did you know that “alter ego” is Latin for “the other I”? I didn’t.
Anyway, Béni has an alter ego: Psycho Dog.
Psycho Dog graces us with his presence 2-3 times a week. He shows up unexpectedly and leaves as suddenly as he came. Characteristics of PD include but are not limited to: goofy grin, growling, insane speed running, sliding across the apartment floor, wide eyes, raised back fur. Typically, these all occur at the same time and thus, we have dubbed him Psycho Dog.
Psycho Dog is extremely hilarious, but you have to watch out! He’ll knock you over. That dog is on a mission. I’d like to think that he gets an intergalactic message that the universe is off balance, and he must run like crazy to set everything right again. That’s right. Dogs get intergalactic dog text messages.
I swear I’m not losing it. However, I thought I was this morning! On an average day at work, I probably receive around 100 emails, and I send anywhere between 80-150 messages. Imagine my confusion when I didn’t receive a single email between 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM. Around 10:30, it dawned on me that I hadn’t received anything, and I started to get concerned. I could only imagine the backlog of emails stuck somewhere in cyberspace waiting to flood my inbox. I called our IT support folks and said the internet was broken. Someone came out to “fix” it but said nothing was wrong. I had John send me a test message as well as our UK admin. I received John’s 20 minutes after he sent it, and the UK admin’s came in immediately. I guess no one needed me today at work. Since then, I have received a couple phone calls and maybe 5-6 emails. What a bizarre day!

Yay for Psycho Dog! I think that PD’s cousin is named Janey Johnson and lives in Wichita Falls, TX. Dogs are so funny sometimes; they just get it in their heads to play and IT’S ON! Thanks for the comments on the blog entries too, Sarah. I still find it hard to believe that we didn’t play tennis in all the time I lived in Austin!
I can’t beleive we didn’t play either — I have been wanting to get back out on the court here, especially since the sujmmer weather isn’t brutal like in Texas, but now, I’m sans raquet. Boooooo.
oh, i say GO WITH IT when your inbox is lonely!! it’ll be good to actually be able to focus! if you’re like me, between phone calls, tweets, emails and actual people, it’s a wonder i get anything done! (oh, and the occasional blogstalk while working, too!;)
we had a lab. pd is definitely embedded deeeeeeep in the breed. rock with it. if nothing else, it’s usually pretty hilarious!
Yeah, it was nice to be able to get those little things done that you’re always telling yourself you’ll get to but you never have time for.
Yes, we love PD. It’s often increidbly hilarious 🙂
