I woke up at 5:25 this morning in order to be ready when John needed to go. This probably needs a little explanation…
Two days ago, when we moved in our mattress, we discovered John’s car key had snapped in half, which left us sans car. (No, the car didn’t come with a spare key, but in retrospect, we should have had one made. Lesson learned.) Although I would say most times would be labeled “inopportune” to have your car rendered useless, this is a particularly bad time. We are still trying to get everything moved into our new apartment, and there is a lot of stuff still at the barracks. Not to mention, John works at a kaserne right by his old barracks, and our apartment is a good 15 minutes away. This morning, we were waiting on the sidewalk just before 6 am so his NCO (non-commissioned officer) could pick us up at 6 and bring us to the barracks. John had to be here for formation at 6:30, and then we had breakfast. He didn’t have PT today, because he has some work stuff to get done and then a color guard rehearsal at 9:30. After that, he will be back here to wait with me for the movers who are going to get most of the rest of his stuff moved out of here and over to our apartment.
Speaking of moving into our apartment, I suppose I should give everyone the run down on that as well! We spent our first night in our apartment two nights ago, but we only had our mattress and box spring on the floor and a couple suitcases there. Yesterday, we had the delivery of my household goods. We were up at 6:10 am and I was ready to sleep by 9:15 pm, but I still had things to do, so it was awhile before I actually got to bed.
I have a lot more to write about, as we have said before, but I must get to what prompted today’s update. (Then, I must get back to schoolwork. I have a class that runs the week of July 15th, and I still have 3 books to read and two 4-6 page papers to write.)
This morning, we checked our wedding photographer’s blog (Lisa Woods: Now and Then Photography) and she had posted photos of us from our wedding! We are so excited to see some images, and cannot wait to see the rest. To see the photos, click this link.
In her blog, she also linked to her assistant’s blog (Bonnie Berry). She also posted a number of superb images from our wedding. To see those, click this link.
We were so lucky to have these two fantastic photographers work with us on our wedding day. If you have been keeping up with our blog, you know we had some issues with the photographer we initially booked. We are so glad we ended up working with Lisa and Bonnie. Their work is amazing, and we are so thankful to have the photos we wanted!
I particularly love the one with your bridesmaids where your head is cut off, but most of your bridesmaids are fully visible…. I’m sure I will have lots of those someday when it’s my turn 😉 Hehe.
Really great photos though!! Excellent photographers!!
