Update on the Job Interview & Sunday Tradition

My job interiew was this past Thursday with a company called EMBL.  They are a molecular biology labratory, and they were looking for an event assistant for their conferences. I was hoping this would be good event management experience on the more corporate/trade level side, but unfortunately, the position was more of an internship. It would have been 10 hours/week of work and I would have been paid 10 Euros/hour. I need to find something that pays better and is more suitable for my qualifications, so I asked that EMBL considers me in the future if any of the full time event positions open up. (The woman who interviewed me was very nice, and I think I would be very happy working there in a full time position.)

Today marks the 4th week that John and I have done the same thing on Sunday, and we like how it’s become a bit of a tradition for us. Each Sunday, we have a late breakfast/lunch at a coffee place in Schwetzingen. We order the same thing every time: 2 cups of coffee and their meat and cheese plate, which comes with 3 different kinds of bread, butter, jam and nutella.  I love it and look forward to it each week.

This morning we also got the chance (for the first time this fall) to see a UT game! The UT vs. Colorado game aired this morning at 9 AM, so that was exciting to see. Hook ’em! We’re hoping that next week’s UT vs. OU game airs as well.

What time is it?

Oh, it’s 3:21 PM and OU STILL SUCKS!

  1. game’s at 11am CST, so you’d have to get up at 4am to watch the game if it’s airing.

  2. Thanks, but the games aren’t aired live here. Like the debates, they’re usually recorded and aired sometime the next day (if at all).

  3. Ah, also, we’re 7 hours ahead, not behind. So it potentially could air live here since it will start at 6 PM our time. The TV schedules haven’t come out for Saturday yet, though, so I don’t know for sure.

  4. i think the event management route would be awesome and a great fit for you!!! good luck and i know you will keep us all posted! sooo glad you got to see a texas game =))) x0

  5. ps traditions are awesome- nothing wrong with doing the same thing on the weekends..as long as its relaxing =)))
