I don’t know what we used to blog about — travel? Beni? I just don’t know, because now I’m at a loss for anything of note to write about. We were going to go to London next weekend but cancelled that trip so we could use part of a workday to go to Frankfurt to (finally) legally change my name. It’s been almost two and a half years, and I never took care of the whole name change bit because it involved taking off from work. Oops.
The only other thing we have had going on lately is trying to find new recipes with lots of fresh foods — mainly veggies. Other than stir fry, veggie fajitas, and salads, I’m at a loss. Am I missing something here? Do you all have any good recipes to share? If so, please share away!
In all seriousness, our lives are pretty boring these days. The most exciting thing I’ve done lately is clean out my inbox. And actually, that was a big feat considering I had email in there since 2004! I cut it down from over 1,000 to 150 messages in my inbox. I’ll be completely satisfied when it’s just down to the messages I’m currently writing back and forth on. Having my inbox down to a more manageable level has really helped me to respond more quickly to emails. Previously, I was too overwhelmed by all the unread and read messages demanding my attention that instead of trying to tackle the problem, I just closed my browser and would walk away.
The weather here has been much chillier than average, and for the past 3 weeks or so, I’ve felt like it’s already fall. Our lows are around 50 and our highs are about 70-75. I hope the change in weather doesn’t negatively affect the Brussel spouts we planted. I really want to have a decent number of sprouts to harvest. For those of you who cringe at the thought of Brussel sprouts, do yourself a favor and try this recipe. It forever changed our minds about Brussel sprouts. You can also try this recipe, because (1) it’s Tyler Florence’s recipe, which means it’s automatically yummy and (2) if you don’t know who Tyler Florence is, then just know the recipe has bacon in it, and bacon makes everything better.
I hope you enjoy those recipes, and please send some our way!
