Please forgive this late posting of Seven Quick Takes. I want to say things have been abnormally crazy (and thus why I haven’t posted), but crazy seems to be our new norm.
1. I get to do some business travel. More on that next week.
2. I sewed my first ever project on the sewing machine John got me for Christmas. It turned out fairly well. I don’t want to post pictures in case I give some similar projects as gifts… 🙂
3. We bought 7 pink tulips at the grocery store today for 1.77 Euro (USD equivalent approx. $3)! That also strikes off one out of 3 times I wanted to have fresh flowers in our home for our 101 in 1001.
4. We got a new TV!! I don’t know if you know how big of a deal that is to us. Our old TV was not a flat screen and was about 24″. We only had one TV, which is perfect for our small family. Now, however, we are also the proud owners of a 32″ Panasonic flat screen TV. Hello, 21st century. It’s nice to meet you. We were also able to buy a new sound system, so we could get rid of John’s 10+ year-old big chunky speakers (or we’ll keep them in our room!).
5. I made chocolate chip cookies from scratch tonight. I think it’s sad that when I hear people say “I’m going to make some chocolate chip cookies,” I immediately envision slice and bake cookies.
6. The humidity in our apartment has been sitting at about 29%. My skin is begging for more humidity – so is my hair.
7. The snow is starting to melt, and I’m glad. We ended up getting about a foot when all was said and done. I’m just glad we don’t live somewhere that this happens with more regularity. I think Wednesday or Thursday was the first day of 2010 where we had weather above freezing. I’m ready for spring!
For the humidity….come visit my house! LOL
For the cookies….those were awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Cool about the tv! We’re gonna have to have game night at your place next time just so we could play Disney Scene It on YOUR screen 🙂 LOL
LOVE YOU GUYS!
You’re welcome! I hope you guys had a good time catching up with your friends. Sorry to have interrupted your night!
We’d love to have another round of Disney Scene It! Let’s arrange a night once I get back from DC.

Wow! You got a foot!? I’m so jealous. I think we got about 4 inches in the valley, max. I love the snow but it sucks for biking so I’m not all that sorry to see it go, either.
Yeah, but we’re not that far from you, so that’s weird! I think we’re probably a 5-6 minute drive away.
Yeah on the fresh flowers!! If you want a little winter dry skin relief, you can try RoBathol. It is WONDERFUL! I use it in my kids bath every night!!
Blessings-
Amanda
Thanks for the tip!! My skin can use any help it can get!
Oh, chocolate chip cookies… That sounds like lots of fun…
About the snow – I wouldn’t count on spring arriving early… There might be some snow until late March… Sorry to disappoint you
Yeah, the past two years it hasn’t warmed up until April. I just wish spring came earlier! 🙂
yay for snow (better you than me)
tulips in the house are good. tulips blooming at my house, even better. can’t wait for spring!!
