Winter in the Summer?

It got up to 79 today, and I thought it was rather warm. Germany has affected my Texan nature already, ahhh!

I just had to stop in to write a quick note about the weather.  Although that sounds like a lame, boring entry, it really is interesting to compare the weather here with what I am used to.  For instance, the other day it rained 4 times throughout the day.  And I’m not talking about it just stopping and starting raining – it would clear up and get sunny and beautiful and then a little later would cloud up again and rain.  It’s so crazy!  It gives a new meaning to the Texan saying that if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes because it will change.

All in all the weather has been pretty nice here lately.  When we first got here, it was really warm and we only had one fan, so I was pretty hot all the time.  (If I haven’t said so before, we don’t have A/C.  Most Europeans don’t have A/C, so we fit right in!)  Anyway, it’s been rainy off and on lately which has kept it cool.  The rest of the week, our highs are the upper 70s (one day is 84) and are lows are mainly in the upper 50s.  Last week we had lows around 49 or 50.  Brr!  It was refreshing, but odd for it to be that chilly in July.

Speaking of it being chilly, the weather hasn’t cooperated yet for us to go to the schwimmbad (swimming pool) on a free weekend.  Cross your fingers that we get to go soon, or else we’ll be REALLY pasty by next summer :o)
