Cleaning: Not Just for Sidewalks

I promise I won’t keep posting about cleaning, but yesterday’s post reminded me of what we did last week: clean out our closets.

Since I moved across the ocean just over a year ago, I thought I had weeded through my wardrobe fairly well. Wrong.

I was able to rid my closet of two full trash bags of clothes. Most of the stuff was still in great condition but should only be worn by someone between the ages of 19 and 22. My rule of thumb when going through the closet: if I’d feel uncomfortable wearing it, give it away.

I wish we could have taken the clothes to Goodwill, but the best we could do over here was to drop them off at the Reuse Center, which is a building on post where people can go to rummage through what others have dropped off. Hopefully my old clothes will get put to good use!

It’s also amazing how much more space I have now. I’m just trying to remind myself that my wardrobe isn’t sparse. I don’t need replacement clothing. I wasn’t wearing that old stuff anyway!

  1. I have that problem, too! If I clean out the closet, I feel like I have to fill it back up. Glad you got it so nice & clean. 🙂
