Thank You!

A delicious breakfast, warm winter temperatures, a sunny day – what more could a girl want for her birthday?

John was so sweet to wake up an hour and a half early today in order to get himself ready, do the dishes and make an excellent breakfast for me. We enjoyed coffee cake, scrambled eggs, yogurt, coffee and OJ together this morning. Yum! What a change from my typical bowl of Multi-Grain Cheerios and OJ.

Going to work today, it was rainy and gray, so it was exceptionally nice to see the sun come out this afternoon, and get this – it’s currently 50 degrees in Heidelberg. I looked up the temperature on my previous birthdays in Germany, and it’s typically at or around 30 on my birthday, so this is a big deal!

To top it all off, I have gotten such wonderful phone calls, emails and Facebook messages today from family and friends, and I’m so thankful for all of you! You’re so sweet to think of me today. I feel very special.

Tonight, John and I are just going to take it easy. We’re making chicken enchiladas and queso (another big yum) and enjoying some birthday chocolate chip cookies. A relaxing night in is just what the doctor ordered after our very busy past few days – more about that tomorrow. (Yes, *gasp* I am planning on posting two days in a row.)
