Ten on Tuesday…errr Wendesday (vol. 23)

I fully intended to post this yesterday, but in the last 24-48 hours, I have gone from happy and feeling well to a little grumpy (but still mainly happy) and physical aches and complaints akin to an octogenarian’s. As a result, I spent yesterday evening huddled on the couch requesting help every now and then from my very helpful and patient husband. Thank you, John!

Today, I’m feeling a little better, but my back is still hurting quite a bit. I’ve slowed down a lot lately, too. Pre-pregnancy, my walk to work was 7 minutes. As of last week, it was 9-10 minutes. Now, with this backache, I would guess it takes me more like 11-12 minutes. In the spring, summer and fall, it wouldn’t matter. I like being outdoors. However, during the chilly, wet winter weather, taking longer for a walk isn’t the most desirable change for pregnancy.

Anyway, now to the real reason for the post, Chelsea’s Ten on Tuesday. The questions this week come from my friend Sarah at Simply Sarah.

1. Do you decorate for Valentine’s day?
No. I suppose I would if we had any Valentine’s Day decorations (ie a centerpiece or something), but we only have Christmas stuff. I would like to get some spring decorations to put out around Easter, so that’s next on my list…

2. Does your desktop have a picture or computer graphic? Is it organized?
My work computer has a photo I took in Mont-Saint-Jean, France of some old buildings. My personal computer has a photo of a valley in the Swiss Alps. My work desktop is organized. My personal desktop is a little haphazard, though I do prefer when it is orderly.

3. Do you use a paper planner, electric planner or no planner at all?
I use the iCal app on my iPhone. If we lose that thing, we’ll be in a bind.

4. Do you change purses or bags often or stick with a good thing?
I’d like to think that I utilize all my purses equally, but it’s just not the case. I pretty much use a purse until it falls apart and then I switch.

5. What’s your favorite YouTube Video?
Oh, there are quite a few:
Charlie Bit Me
Whistling Puppy
Oscar the Boxer

GI Joe Body Massage PSA
Star Wars According to a 3 Year Old

6. Do you use Turbo Tax or a real person to pay your taxes?
Right now, one of my job’s benefits is that my computer provides a tax professional to complete my taxes. They’re a wee bit more complicated than the Average Joe’s taxes, because I pay tax to the German government (not fun, let me tell ya). Once we leave Germany, we’ll be back on our own; however, with my photography business adding an extra layer of complication to our finances, we’ll probably be hiring someone else to do our taxes in the future as well.

7. How many states have you set foot (or tire) in? Which ones?
23 – Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, California, Colorado, Washington and Wyoming. I don’t remember all of them though. Some of those were when I was really little, some were just driven through and a few were even just passed through on a train. I have stayed in and remember Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, North Dakota, Minnesota, Washington, California, Missouri, Virginia and New York.

8. How many countries have you been in? Which ones?
7 – the US, Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and France. I was in Heathrow airport for a little while, but I don’t count that.

9. How many pillows are in your house? (Sleeping or decorative)
Haha ummm 23 I think, not counting the Boppy.

10. How cold is too cold for flip flops?
Well, when we lived in Texas, I’d probably say when the temperature got below about 45. Now, I wouldn’t mind wearing flip flops then, but I’d probably save them for at least the 60s. I have too many other cute shoes to wear, whereas before, I mainly survived off of flip flops for my footwear. I guess if nothing else, living in a colder climate will increase your (sensible) shoe supply!
