Reveal #3: Look at the Glasses

There are certain things that come up in life that at one point I consider blog-worthy and then life happens. I never end up blogging about it, and though I continue wishing I had just mentioned something short in the blog, nothing is ever said. Something that happened during our last trip home falls on this list of un-blogged events.

I got glasses!

Aren’t they great? I say “I got glasses” as an exclamation, because I’m sick of my contacts. The past year or so, my eyes have been getting more irritated, and on several occasions, I’ve wound up with a contact stuck up in an unreachable area of my eye. Enter: glasses. Cue: angelic music.

I like that photo for another reason, too. I have a thing for our everyday glassware. To me, they embody a look that I want to achieve in our home. They have a neat texture and a lot of color (who wants boring clear glasses?…don’t worry, we have those too). They also may or may not have been the beginning of my obsession with bold colors and my desire to rid my wardrobe of bland browns and blacks.

Scroll back to the photo and look at the glasses — not the ones on my face, the one in my hand. Note the color. There is your big hint for our gender reveal. That’s right! We found out this morning, and by the time this posts, we’ll probably (hopefully) be wrapping up our registries.

We are SO excited!! More about our little one next week. Even though I still have some reveals I could post this week, I don’t think anything could top this. Maybe we’ll do another couple reveals in a week or two. Bis spaeter!

  1. The new glasses look great on you! I’ve worn glasses since the 4th grade, and although I did try out contacts for a while, they just weren’t for me. Too much hassle and irritation, and I always find my way back to good ol’ glasses.

And… you’re having a boy!? Ahhh, I’m so excited for you!!

  2. The glasses look great! I’ve always been a glasses girl myself.

Congrats on finding out that you’re having a boy. So exciting!!

  3. The glasses look great on you! I’ve never been able to wear contacts, first of all because I had double vision which required super thick lenses, and then when that was fixed with surgery my eyes were just too sensitive for the only type of contacts I could have (I have seriously messed up eyes). I do need a new pair of glasses now though… I’ve had mine for 7ish years and am sick of them.

Love the drinking glasses too… I’ve been looking to get some green ones like that.

Congrats on find out you’re having a boy, boys are the best! (slightly biased here).

  4. The glasses look great. I had problems with my contacts some years ago, when my allergies got worse and I decided to go back to glasses. I’ve become a bit obsessed with them, now owning about 5 pairs…
