Visit Chelsea at Roots and Rings to see how everyone else answered the Ten on Tuesday questions!
1. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey
2. What is your earliest memory?
I remember watching the Fiesta parades while my mom was in the hospital having Andrew – I was 3 then. I’m not sure if this other memory happened before or after then, but I would wear this one pink, blue and black plaid outfit, and we had a pink feather duster that matched it. Every time I wore the outfit, I would carry around the feather duster and pretend to be a maid.
3. What is your earliest memory of a dessert?
I remember when Circle K opened down the street from us, and my dad took me there and bought me my first ice cream sandwich. That night while I ate it, I stared out the window toward the backyard and watched the lightning. Oh, and the ice cream sandwich got all over me and it was delicious.
4. Do you have any recurring dreams?
Yes. I have one in particular that comes to mind — I have a dream about going to my favorite house. Every time I go there, it’s the same. I absolutely love being there, and there are hidden “areas” that open up to huge rooms/groups of rooms. Oh yeah, and it has a tall steeple with a bell. It’s awesome.
5. Have you ever dreamed about dessert?
I don’t think I’ve ever dreamed about a dessert, which is lucky, because I would probably wake up with a drool-soaked pillow. Blech!
6. What is one thing (aside from a cell phone or computer) that you cannot go the entire day without?
Breathing. Hah! But in all seriousness, I don’t know. I wouldn’t like to go a day without talking to John, playing with Béni or drinking a glass of water.
7. What is one dessert you could go your entire life without ever having again?
A hot apple pie from McDonald’s. I loved them when I was little, but now? No thanks.
8. If you could go on vacation tomorrow, where would you go? (Assume someone else is footing the bill, but within reason…so “the moon” won’t work)
That leaves me with too many choices! I would love to go somewhere warm in order to escape the grayness that we have been living in for the past 6 months (so Australia or New Zealand sound good – but so does Playa del Carmen, Mexico). However, I really would love to go to Norway, and I don’t know that we’ll have the money to be able to go there while we’re still in Germany, so I’m torn — visiting the land of my heritage or basking in the sun? Is it sad that if I had to choose right now I think I would choose the sun?
9. If you could have any dessert tomorrow, what would you have (assume someone else is buying it for you. Within reason though, no “gold sprinkled ice cream cones.”)
I would have the chocolate cake from Eddie V’s that has hot melted chocolate inside. Yum!
10. What was your first impression of your significant other? If you’re single, what was your first impression of your best friend?
My first impression or my second first impression? We “met” twice. The very first time, I thought he was a great photo subject, was decent company and was kind of cute. The second first time I met him, I thought he was really cute. 🙂
11. What is your first impression of dessert pizza?
I love it! The cinnamon sticks at Gatti’s are awesome, but I had a much better dessert pizza back in college. My friend showed me a way to make a fruit pizza – you bake pizza dough, spread a cream cheese spread (I think you put something else in it) on top as the “sauce” and sprinkle berries all over the top. It was delicious!
Ice cream sandwiches ARE delicious.
I make fuit pizza with a giant sugar cookie, cream cheese mixed with some sugar, and all sort of fruit. SO STINKING GOOD!
Oh gosh, sugar cookie crust sounds ever better! Do you know what the cream cheese to sugar ratio is? I want to try it!
Oh man, it’s been so long since i had a dessert pizza! This is making me hungry.
Likewise! By the way, I finally tried knitting with two colors. I have no idea if I’m doing it “right,” but it looks decent, so I guess that’s all that matter…unless it all falls apart.
Lightning and ice cream sandwiches mmmmm. I love lightning.
That dessert pizza sounds awesome.
I love lightning as well. Sadly, we rarely see any where we live in Germany. I can’t wait to experience a good Texas storm when we move back!
I want to hear the story of the two first meetings! Am I the only one who doesn’t know?
Aw thanks! I hate to redirect you to a website, buuuuut I do have a place where it’s already typed up. Check out http://www.mywedding.com/sojowedding/stories.html and let us know what you think! Maybe I’ll repost the story to the blog at some point. 🙂
It’s such a great story! Thank you for sharing =)
Thanks, and thanks for reading it!
