The Weihnachtsmarkts are Back!

(Check at the end of the post for answers to my favorite movie quotes quiz!)

The Weihnachtsmarkts (Christmas markets) started again at the end of November, and John and I went to the Heidelberg Christmas market on Saturday. We walked about 1.5 miles up and down the Haupstraße to see everything. This was my first thing to go out and do for a second year in a row in Germany, and it was weird to think “oh, I remember this booth from last year” and “that guy makes the best crepes here.”

We had an amazingly good chocolate dipped banana on a stick, which we missed last year. I’m glad we didn’t pass by it again this year. The same booth had chocolate dipped pineapples, kiwis, strawberries and more. After that, John and I each got some Glühwein (mulled wine). John got the Heidelbeere Glühwein, which is blueberry flavored, and I got the Bratapfel Glühwein, which is roasted apple flavored (my favorite!). Before heading home (it was cold!), we each got a crepe. Of course mine was filled with nutella and cinnamon sugar. John tried something new and got ham and cheese.

Here are a couple photos from the Christmas market, followed by the answers to my favorite movie quotes quiz:

A little less bright this time…

I thought this photo made me look like I had no hair. The black ear muff-type thing I’m wearing blended in with the background on the LCD screen of my camera, but thankfully, it doesn’t blend in so much when it’s a “normal-size” photo.

  1. I guessed Serendipity and Love Actually too, but I didn’t want to be hogging all the movie quotes. I’m usually bad with movie quotes but a lot of those happen to be movies I’ve seen many times!
