Fall Colors

We noticed that the fall colors were already disappearing. This is happening much earlier than last year. We decided that the plants are mad because it got cold and then warm again, and as a result, Germany (at least where we live) looks more like a Texas fall than a beautiful German fall. Since the colors are fading fast, we took a drive into the hills to capture as much color as possible.

Once we got into the hills, we noticed that the bottoms of the trees were still green, but the tops had changed color. Now everything is just brownish or barren (it’s been two weeks since we took these photos). This is a big contrast to last year. I got to Germany on November 8th and the foliage was still vibrant.

Also, I want to note (for those of who know about photo editing) that I did not enhance any of these photos at all. The color is just as my camera captured it, and it’s pretty accurate.

One final note, I took all of these photos while John was driving, so the framing, angles, etc. aren’t idea, but hopefully you’ll get a good picture of what it looks like around here (or did 2 weeks ago).
