Ok so maybe its not just in, but I am just getting around to posting it on the blog…
As you can see by the last post, my unit has officially inactivated. As such, we all needed new jobs! Many of the soldiers worked in sections that were going to keep doing the same thing they were doing, but with a different name and different bosses, but I don’t work in one of those sections. So, I was left wondering whether we will have to move to another town, stay in place and work for one of those sections that is sticking around, or goodness knows what. Luckily, I ran into an E7 (Sergeant First Class) that I used to work with. He let me know that the office that he works in is looking for someone to fill an open slot and that he would like to recommend me for the position. I actually had to go in and interview (which is rare in the army, you usually just get assigned!) and I got the job!
Well folks this isn’t just any job…. This is a job working in the EDITED OUT FOR OPSEC (Operational Security). We are talking about a EDITED FOR OPSEC. He will be the EDITED FOR OPSEC in Europe. I am excited as this makes for some great resume fodder, and will be a great opportunity for me.
My favorite part of my new job though? I no longer have to go to organized Physical Training. I get to work out on my own at whatever time of day I want. I no longer will be forced to do push ups and sit ups and 6am. Now I can actually go the gym and workout how I want. Yay! The hours will be a bit different too. I will either be working a morning shift and getting off earlier in the day or working an afternoon shift and getting to sleep in in the morning. Awesome. Ok, so there’s your news! 🙂
