Wrinkles, Sheets and Coffee

The title of this post makes me want to get back in bed. Unfortunately, I can’t do that for another 10 hours, so for now, I’ll just tell you about all the things I did not do this past week. Welcome to “Not Me!” Monday – a chance for everyone to be brutally honest about what they have not been doing this week. I am opposed to setting a precedent of letting Béni get onto our bed with us and have not let him up there. Saturday morning, John and I were relaxing and watching some TV in bed, which we never get to do (really). I did not think Béni looked so cute and pitiful sitting on the floor by our bed that I succumbed to allowing him on the bed just in “special cases.” No, I would never allow that.

I have been a little stressed trying to learn how to juggle work, school, household duties and marriage, and some things may or may not have fallen by the wayside. One thing that I have not let fall by the wayside is ironing. I always go to work with perfectly pressed clothes. I did not go to work twice last week with clothes straight out of the shipping box from Ann Taylor LOFT. They did not have creases all over and did not smell like cardboard.

A few months ago, John and I cut back on our caffeine intake. Since beginning my new job, I have not taken to drinking a cup of coffee every morning before leaving our apartment and I did not stock our office fridge with a case of Dr. Peppers that I take from once a day. No, not me. And even if I did, would it make it any better knowing that I eat homemade granola as a snack while at work? No? Oh, darn. At least the granola got me a lunch invite last week. The men in the office thought I must not be paid enough to eat “real” food.

I have already written my second to last Paris update, so watch for that tomorrow. It is a wee bit lengthy, but I think it has some good stories and travel advice. Let me know what you think!

well, not to discourage you, but i’ve been married for 20 years (well, on sunday it will be 20!) and i’m still trying to learn how to juggle! one of these days, right?

as for camp?? every week there are adult guests at all of the 20 something young life camps across the US. it is by far one of the richest experiences i’ve had (even as an adult) and should be on your bucket list. young life is intentional about their mission of sharing the gospel there’s not an unplanned or happenstance moment in the week! i highly, highly recommend. and you WILL have your camp experience. promise!
