Antique Hutch
November 18, 2008
The antique hutch that we purchased at the bazaar the weekend before last was delivered yesterday morning. I’m really excited about it. I cleaned it as soon as John left for work. Today, I gave it another good clean inside the drawers and shelves and started putting things inside.
I really like it. I’m serious.
I got all the information I could about the piece. Apparently the style is called Geometrisch Jungenstil, which is Art Nouveau in English. It was made between 1903 and 1907 in either Darmstadt or Munich.
And finally, here are two pictures of our lovely new dinig room hutch:

STILL LOVE IT! facebook love transcends websites. =) oooh, you could line the inside with pretty wrapping paper if you’re putting non-scratchable things in it

Very nice! Don’t you feel like a grown up now that you have “piece”?! I bought a beutiful red hutch/cabinet a couple years ago. It’s my favorite item in our house. So much character. And now you can say things like “We found this piece in 2008 when we lived in Germany.”
